Update
Make sure you’re running the latest version of Greentone and your DAW.
System requirements
Greentone supports macOS 11.0 amd64/arm64 and Windows 10/11 x64.
Plugin paths
Verify your DAW is scanning the folder where Greentone is installed.
Try a blank session
Test Greentone in a new empty project to rule out session-specific issues.
Frequently asked questions
- Confirm you installed the correct plugin format for your DAW (VST3/AU/AAX).
- Open your DAW’s plugin manager and force a rescan of plugins.
- Check that the Greentone plugin file is in a folder your DAW scans.
- On macOS, make sure you allowed the plugin in System Settings → Privacy & Security if you saw a security warning.
- Make sure Greentone is inserted on a track with an input signal (guitar, reamp, etc.).
- Check the input and output meters inside Greentone – if input is flat, your DAW might not be sending audio.
- Ensure the plugin is not bypassed in your DAW’s insert list.
- Disable any other plugins on the track as a test to rule out conflicts.
- Increase your audio buffer size slightly in your audio interface settings.
- Freeze or bounce other heavy tracks to free CPU.
- Make sure you’re not running multiple heavy amp models in parallel unintentionally.
- Close other CPU-intensive background apps (browsers, screen recording, etc.).
- Double-check that you’re entering the exact email and license key from your purchase confirmation.
- Deactivate on old machines if you’ve reached the activation limit (if applicable).
- Temporarily disable VPN or aggressive firewall tools and retry activation.
